why does anyone really care what celebrities think about politics?

the media goes out of their way to post responses that this celeb said about political candidates or situations . Why do we care? These people are paid to entertain, no expound on issues of importance?

I personally, could care less what celebrities think about politics.
As a Conservative, I have nothing in common, politically, with the vast majority of Hollywood, anyway.

I don’t, but I have only to go to work to see how enamored with celebrities, their lives and fluff in general that most people are.
While we’re watching TLC, History Channel, Dirty Jobs, Mythbusters, etc., and books, all the talk at work is about American Idol, dancing w/the stars and People magazine.
I understand the need for mindless entertainment now and then, but my life doesn’t revolve around these people!

Nothing makes their opinion of any value unless they have some evidence they have actually accomplished something REAL.
They are entertainers ONLY and the value of what they say is zero without evidence they have other reasons for credibility.

we don’t…..but the media has a 24 hour news cycle to fill….they have to put something on air….people give celebrities, and the media way too much credit on how much they actually affect anything….

Lets see…Laura Ingraham..Hannity…Savage…Limbough…Lars Larson…Mark LaVin…Bill O’Reily..Mike Reagan…Neil Bors…Dennis Prager..Liddy….plus all those ‘religious’ entertainers…..I wonder if the guy that posted this ‘question’ includes these characters in his opinion of the value of ‘celebrities’ in his world view? If not, why not?
